Obituary of Martin John Alvord

Martin John Alvord, 22, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 13th. He was preceded in death by his mother, Michelle Alvord and his grandmother, Maribeth Haller. Martin is survived by his father, Barry Alvord; siblings, Beth, Phil, Mary Grace, John, Stephen, and Maria; his grandfather, Russell Haller; his Aunt Renee and Uncle Bill; his Uncle Matt and Aunt Mary Ann; his Aunt Kate and Ralph; his cousins Patrick and Heather; and his Uncle Tom. Martin's trademark laugh, passion for design, and vibrant personality will all be missed. We will remember Martin when we see Lucky Charms, graffiti, salad, and bold plaid shirts. Anytime we take trips to the zoo, wake up early to see the sunrise, or go on bike-hikes, we will think of Martin. Martin could make anyone laugh; his unique perspective on life, perseverance in overcoming difficulties, and work ethic has inspired many to strive in life, not settle. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Sebastian Church in Akron. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
