Obituary of Ruth E. Faix
Ruth E. Faix, 93, peacefully went to see the Lord on Tuesday, May 8, 2012. Ruth was born on February 28, 1919 in New Lexington, OH and had been a resident of Akron for 74 years and most recently lived in Huber Heights, OH. She was previously employed at Screen Craft Advertising. Ruth was a member of Immaculate Conception of Mary Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, holding position of President twice, and also Secretary and Historian during her years at the parish. She assisted at many functions and in 2000, became a Eucharistic Minister. She was Woman of the Year for The Summit Regional Council of Catholic Women in 2004, and was on the staff of The Interval Brotherhood Home and a promoter of retreats for Loyola of the Lakes Retreat House. She was also a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians.
She was preceded in death by her parents Nellie and Earl Davis; as well as her husband William in 1984. She is survived by her daughter Joyce (Robert) Shorder of Huber Heights, OH and son William (Noreen) Faix, Jr. of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; grandchildren Laura Saliba of Marietta, OH, Dennis (Karen) Schopper of Dallas, TX, Karen (Dave) Zirkle of Peoria, AZ, and John (Maria) Schopper of San Antonio, TX; brother-in-law Walter Faix, Barberton, OH and sister-in-law Dorothy Stack of Pittsburgh, PA; step-grandchildren Jill Lancaster, Michael Shorder, Jan Olis and Brandon Tate. Ruth also had 23 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren.
We wish to thank all the wonderful nurses, aides, and staff at Dayspring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Fairborn, OH. We also wish to thank the priests of Saint Peter Parish of Huber Heights and Vitas Hospice.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 5-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S, Main St. in Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 am at the Immaculate Conception of Mary Catholic Church, 2128 16th St. SW Akron, OH 44314.
