Obituary of Esther Cracium
Esther Cracium On Thursday, September 8, Esther Cracium peacefully left her worldly home to join her beloved husband, Trajen; and her doctor son, Daniel in her heavenly home. Ester was the quintessential example of the best wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend anyone could ever have. She loved everything domestic, especially cooking. Before she learned to drive (which didn't happen until she was 45 years old), she organized her week around household chores. If it was Monday, she was doing laundry; Tuesday was ironing; Wednesday and Thursday she cleaned downstairs; Friday she changed the beds and cleaned upstairs; Saturday was grocery shopping because Dad could drive her; and Sunday was worship. It was God's day. Esther loved to cook and bake. Many of her ``specialty' recipes, like her famous chicken soup, she passed down to her daughters and granddaughters. It was not uncommon for her to receive a phone call from her son, Paul, in California asking for one of her Christmas cookie recipes or how to make paprikas. Ester was a member of The Chapel for over 50 years. She loved her Sunday School class ``The Inheritors' and attended until she was no longer physically able. She also sang in the Chapel choir for many years. She loved music and made sure that all four of her children developed an appreciation of music and played a musical instrument - much to their dismay at times. Esther was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Julia (Rausch) Milan; brother, Ted Milan; son, Daniel James; and her beloved husband and helpmate, Trajen; she leaves behind to remember her with joy and love Mary Ann (Terry) Key, Dr. Ruth (Gene) Friedman; son, Paul (Paula) Cracium; daughter-in-law, Kathi Cracium; grandchildren, Juliet (Michael) Swires, Alexandra, Stephen (Georgina), Daniel and Trajen; great-grandchildren, Grant, Amelia and Ella. She will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews and many life long friends. A service to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday, September 13 at 7 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 5 p.m. to the service time.
