Obituary of Judith Getz

Judie Getz, 70, passed away on August 30, with her loving husband Don by her side, at the Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center in Copley. Born in Warren, Ohio on October 28, 1940, Judie had been a Peninsula resident since 1972. She was a 1958 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School and was a former member of the Peninsula Garden Club. Judie was an avid reader and an excellent cook, as well as a loving mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Ruth Krupp, Judie is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Don of Peninsula; children, Krista Lyon of Lubbock, Texas, Joel Getz of Eagle Bay, N.Y., Jeffrey (Kris) Getz of San Antonio, Texas, and Brenton (Lisa) Getz of Cuyahoga Falls; as well as 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family would also like to extend their deepest thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at AGMC ICU and at the Hospice Care Center for the compassionate care that was given to Judie. A Celebration of Judie's life will take place on Saturday, September 10, at 11 a.m. at the Peninsula United Methodist Church, 5972 Akron-Peninsula Rd., Peninsula, OH 44264. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Peninsula United Methodist Church, 5972 Akron-Peninsula Rd., Peninsula, OH 44264; Peninsula Library Foundation, P.O.
