Obituary of Robert Oyler

Robert Oyler, 93, passed away on August 3, at the Emeritus in Stow. Born in Akron on August 10, 1917, to the late Sherman and Leslie Oyler, Bob had been a lifetime area resident. He retired from the B.F. Goodrich Co. where he worked as a salesman. Bob served his country as a member of the Air Force during World War II. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Beth in 2010. He is survived by his daughter, Susan (Philip) Angelo of Bath; stepchildren, Clyde (Lynette) Sheppard of Munroe Falls and Dian (Dale) Harbach of Mason, Mich.; as well as nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will take place on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home McGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL (at 3rd. St., one block north of Portage Trail in the Falls), where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, Rev. Stephen Gehlert officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Akron. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bethany United Church of Christ 1235 Broad Blvd., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223 or to the Visiting Nurse Service Hospice Foundation, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH 44333.
