Obituary of Winnie Ellen Shipe

Winnie Ellen Shipe, 84, went to the arms of her Savior Jesus April 29, 2011 at her home after a long illness. Winnie was born August 19, 1926 to John and Jensie (Everett) Vickery in Fountain Bridge, Ga. and had been a Green resident since 1961. She was a member of Greensburg United Methodist Church. Winnie is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Dalton L. Shipe; children, Ronald L. (Letha) Shipe of Guernsey Co., Michael L. (Beverly) Shipe of Green, Robert A. Shipe of Rockwall, Texas and Vicki O. (Dean) Hoskins of Green; stepson, Ronald L. (Letha) Shipe of Guernsey Co.; Winnie was preceded by two brothers and one sister; and survived by beloved siblings, Sim Vickery of Spring Hill, Fla. and Naomi Leverette of Box Springs, Ga.; grandchildren, Stephanie Frantz, Brittany Hoskins, Maia (Lee) Forde, Shara (Steve) Green, Erik Shipe, Nicole (Brian) Karl and Jon Shipe; great-grandchildren, Garret and Owen Frantz, Adriana Hoskins-Volpe and Zoe, Lenci, Asher, Titus and Eden Forde. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 2 p.m. at Greensburg United Methodist Church, 2161 Greensburg Road, P.O. Box 155, Green, Ohio 44232. Rev Mitch Hennessey officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12 (Noon) until 2 p.m. at the church.
