Obituary of Marjorie Shoemaker

April 16, 2011 marked a special day for Marjorie Shoemaker. After 88 years on earth, she has transitioned to the perfect peace of our Lord in heaven. Born on October 19, 1923 to Leland and Olive Buckmaster, Marjorie grew up in Akron, Ohio. For 61 years, she was married to Richard Shoemaker. Since her husband's passing she has enjoyed the loving and caring environment of Altercare of Cuyahoga Falls Center. Her church life was centered around Cuyahoga Falls Christian Church. She is survived by her son, David, granddaughter, Samantha, and many nieces and nephews. She will be interred with her husband's ashes in the setting of Chestnut Hill Cemetery. To commemorate the life of this special lovely lady, there will be a gravesite service for family and friends on Wednesday, April 27th at Noon, Reverend Gail Lindsey will officiate. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor her time on earth may make donations to First Christian Church of Cuyahoga Falls, 2253 3rd St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. Arrangements for Marjorie Shoemaker are being handled by McGowan-Reid & Santos Funeral Home.
