Obituary of Virginia Hochstetler
Virginia Hochstetler, 82, passed away suddenly on January 13, at Akron City Hospital.
Born in Akron on April 11, 1928 to the late Floyd and Mary Lou Darrow, Jenny had been a lifetime area resident. She was a graduate of South High School and was employed by J.C. Penney. She was active in the Hi Loma Beach Club and loved to vacation in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Virginia was an avid seamstress who enjoyed sewing clothes, halloween costumes, and home decor.
Jenny is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Lloyd of Akron; son, Bruce of Florida; and daughter, Alice (David) Mull of Akron; brother, Dan (Carole) Darrow of Green; and sisters, Shirley Summerville and Mary Edmondson, all of Akron; grandchildren, Jake (Wendy) Shocklee of Green and Andy Mull of Akron; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Brooke, and Brock Shocklee.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where a funeral service will take place at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Alzheimers Association.
