Mary Kolar
Mary Kolar, 94, died Monday, December 27, 2010 at University Hospital.
Mary was born May 10, 1916 in Akron to Michael and Anna (Jaksic) Markovich and had been an area resident her entire life. She attended St. Vincent Grade School and High School. She was a charter member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, the church choir and Ladies Guild. She was a member of Portage Lakes AARP and sang with the Barberton Slovak Choir. She currently attended Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John in 2003 and her siblings, Ann, Kathryn, John, Peter, Michael, Francis and Stephen, and is survived by her children, John Kolar of Hudson, Mary Ann Barnett of Ellet, Thomas (Marilyn) Kolar of Butler, David (Bernadette) Kolar of Hudson, Coletta (Terry) Tittle of Green and Carolyn Borkowski of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren, John (Lisa), Heather (Toby), Mark (Amanda), Nicole, Michael, Kathleen (Mike), Thomas (Trulee), Miriam, Meredith, Christopher, Lauren, Kevin, Brittany (Robert), Tiffany (Steve) and Jesse; great-grandchildren, Rachel, Jack, Chrissy, Austin, Charlotte, Noah, Adam, Anna, Olivia, Jagger, Jaylee, Jersey and William; sisters-in-law, Maxine Markovich, Kathleen Markovich and Helen Markel.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, 10:30 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Green Chapel, 4178 Massillon Road, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Rd. in Green. The family will receive friends TODAY from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at your local parish or in c/o Anthony Funeral Homes, 1990 S.
