Obituary of Floyd Raymond Harbarger

Floyd R. Harbarger, Sr., 84, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014. He was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania and was a machinist for Goodyear Aerospace retiring from Loral in 1992 after 30 years of service. Mr. Harbarger was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church where he served as an usher and on Parish Council. He was vice-president of UAW Union local 856, a member of Local 856 Retirees, past president of Firestone Park Prime Timers as well as a member and former vice-president of the Eagles Order 555. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Claire (Trottier) Harbarger; sons, Floyd R., Jr., David M., Robert L. (Arlene), Lee Paul (Beverly) and Dennis J. Harbarger; brother, Franklin (Sandy) Harbarger; sisters, Anna K. Dennis and Matilda Zinn; grandchildren, Stephen (Vada), Jennifer, Danielle, Dennis, Meredith, Ashley and Rachel Harbarger and Joshua and Stephanie Brophy; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Paige Harbarger, Jack and John Lancia, Joshua Brophy, Jr. and Madyson Brophy; and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St. Akron, Ohio 44301 where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Fr. Matthew Pfeiffer officiating. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Veterans Service Commission, 1060 E. Waterloo Rd. Akron, Ohio 44306.
