Obituary of Isabelle C Yankevice
Isabelle C. Yankevice passed away peacefully November 23, 2010.
She was born May 26th 1922 and grew up in Akron on North Hill, later residing in Cuyahoga Falls. Isabelle attended Saint Martha's grade school and Akron North High School. Isabelle took great pride in raising her three daughters and caring for her husband. One of her most satisfying achievements was being a homemaker and she always left an open door to that home for friends and family, making all feel loved. Isabelle will always be remembered for her loving smile and her famous cakes that were often the highlight of family gatherings. Isabelle was also a loyal member of the St. Joseph Altar and Rosary Society, where again she worked to make sure that all of the church linens were cleaned and pressed to perfection.
Isabelle was preceeded in death by her loving husband, William ``Yank' Yankevice; brothers, Gilbert, Sylvester, Bill Weiss; and sister, Clare. She is survived by her daughters, Clara and Steve Francis of Apopka, Florida, Noreen and Ed Spaugy of Stow, Ohio and Denise and Timothy Wigley of Silver Lake, Ohio; grandchildren, Marcy, Aaron, Brooks, Kyle, Jason, and Sarah; great-grandchildren, Alana, Kayleigh, Natalina and Layla; along with her sister-in-law, Jeanne Weiss; and many nephews.
The family would like to express a sincere thanks to the staff at Briarwood Nursing Home for their care of mom.
A memorial service will take place on Friday at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel (at 3rd St., one block north of Portage Trail in the Falls). Inurnment of ashes will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Isabelle's name.
