Obituary of Dorothy M. Wertman

Dorothy M. Wertman, 93, died Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Rocky Knoll Care Center. Dorothy was born June 14, 1917 to William and Viola (Johnson) Mallory in Akron and had been an Akron resident her entire life. She had been employed at Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. as a secretary for 32 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Firestone Park Evangelical Congregational Church and the Ohio Sportsman Club. Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond in 1985; and is survived by her step daughter, Barbara Yoho of Smithville, Ohio; her six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday 1 p.m. in the Ivy Chapel at Greenlawn memorial Park where her family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
