Obituary of Janet Seay

FAIRLAWN -- Janet Seay 86, passed away on May 2, at the Hospice Care Center in Copley. Born in Akron in 1926 to the late Mervin and Alice Reed, Janet was a lifetime area resident. She graduated from The University of Akron with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She was employed by the Akron Board of Education and taught at Barber Elementary for 25 years. Janet was an avid reader and poet and was a member of the International Society of Poets, as well as the Ohio Retired Teacher's Association. She had been a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cuyahoga Falls. In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 1999; her daughter, Sister Ann, C.S.J.; and her sister, Betty. She is survived by her children, Carol (Arlin) Greber of Akron and William (Crystal) Seay of Florida; grandchildren, Mark Seay and Erick (Jenny) and Jeff Greber; great-granddaughters, Grace and Kaitlyn; brothers, Dick (Dolores) and Bill (Connie) Reed; and sister, Dorothy Goodman. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home McGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL, at 3rd. St., one block north of Portage Trail in the Falls. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg.
