Obituary of Nancy L. Proctor

Nancy L. Proctor, 78, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on October 6, 2010 at Akron City Hospital. She was born July 29, 1932, in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of late Robert and Helen Hammon-tree. She was the oldest of four siblings. Nancy was Valedictorian of the 1951 class of Akron Garfield High School. She also obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Language as well as her Master of Science in Technical Education at The University of Akron. Nancy was an English teacher at Tallmadge High School. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #555. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Rosenberg; grandchildren, John II and David Rosenberg, Kathleen Proctor and Lisa Richardson; grandchildren, Chris and Cassie Richardson of Akron, Ohio; son and daughter-in law, Matthew and Glenda Proctor of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Luke, Mark and Sarah Proctor of Charlotte, N.C.; brothers, Jim Hammontree of North Canton, Ohio and John Hammontree of Sautee-Nachoocheu, Ga. Ms. Nancy L. Proctor was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Helen; her brother; Dan Hammontree; her aunt, Mable Hammontree; and son-in-law, John Rosenberg. A graveside service for family and friends will take place on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the North Canton Cemetery located at 7846 Pittsburg Ave. NW, North Canton, OH 44720. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be sent to the Palliative Care Unit at Akron City Hospital, 525 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44304.
