Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Smith

Mary Elizabeth Smith, 96, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 6, 2010. She was born June 3, 1914 in Detroit, Michigan. Mary retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 35 years of service and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She was the true meaning of unconditional love and will be missed and loved forever. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Matt Capan of 27 years; her second husband, Harry Smith of 5 years; brothers, Imra, Mathew, Mark and Tony; and sisters, Stana, Anna, Kate and Clara. She is survived by her sister, Martha (Ray) Stark; sons, Mathew Capan and Frank (Sandy) Capan; grandchildren, Willard (Wendy) Stephens, Mary (Donnie) Taylor, Marie (Terry) Cistone, Matt Capan, Gina Moon and Debbie (Tony) Gunter; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church. (Procession to form at the church). Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, 3 to 6 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St., Akron.
