Obituary of Debra Ann Mygrant
Debbie Zerick (56) met John Mygrant (58) at BGSU in 1971 as teenagers where they became the loves of each other's lives. Lung cancer (NON-smoker) stole her from us on September 21, 2010, shortly after their 35th anniversary.
Debbie joins her father Ralph, brother, Michael and leaves behind her husband; mother, Betty Jean; brother, Ralph; nephew, Nicholas; niece, Jessica; and godson, Michael Rumes; and grandmother, Nellie Evancho (104).
During this trial of her will, Debbie and John were grateful for the compassion and support of her dear cousin Ellen Sullivan, dear friends and neighbors including the Brobecks, Cordners, Dunns, McDevitts, Mentzers, Rumeses as well as the superb care from AGMC 5400 Ward, McDowell Cancer Treatment Center nurses and staff, the help from their friend and physician Dr. Joe Burick and his selection of a caring and wonderful physician, Dr. John Petrus. Our ``long distance' Army Nurses in Texas, Brenda and Karen provided round the clock help. This most difficult journey would not have been tolerable without the spiritual and emotional support from Fr. Dave Durkee, Fr. Thom Kowatch and dear friend and Eucharist Minister Jan Boyea.
A Mass of Christian Burial, open to all, will be celebrated by Rev. David R. Durkee at Queen of Heaven Parish, 1800 Steese Rd., Green, Ohio, at 8 p.m. on Friday evening, September 24, 2010. The family will have a brief reception for one-half hour prior to Mass in the Gathering Space of the church. Interment will take place Saturday, 2 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery in Cleveland where Debbie spent her youth.
Memorials are suggested for Queen of Heaven Parish (queenofheavenparish.org) or Visiting Nurse Service and Affiliates (vnsa.com) which guided her soul and body through her final days on this earth. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/ohio/obituary.aspx?n=debra-ann-mygrant-zerick&pid=145564413#sthash.8A9iOUl1.dpuf
