Obituary of Mildred M. Delaney

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Mildred M (Koesterer) Delaney, 94, died June 6, 2014. Mildred was born in Belleville, Illinois on January 28, 1920. After graduation from the Academy of Our Lady in Peoria, Illinois, she worked as a stenographer for the government in St. Louis, Missouri. There she met Master Sergeant Ray Delaney at a Knights of Columbus USO dance. They were married in St. Louis on December 5, 1942, moving to Akron in 1945. In 1954 the family moved to Cuyahoga Falls. She retired from Cuyahoga Valley Community Mental Health Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio as Executive Secretary in 1982. Milly was preceded in death by her husband Ray, infant daughter, Mildred Mary Delaney, her parents, Francis F and Leona M (Bedel) Koesterer, brother, Richard Koesterer, and sisters Frances Fischer, Audrey Schelling, and Rosemary (William) Barry. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Bill) Skinner of Cuyahoga Falls, and Marylee (Rich) Terrano, granddaughter, Leigh Anne (Matt) Jadro, grandson, Michael (Megan) Terrano, great-grandaughter Lilijana and great-grandson Maxsim Jadro, all of Clark, New Jersey; and many nieces and nephews. Milly was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church for over 50 years and was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society. She also volunteered at St. Thomas Hospital and for Good Neighbors of Cuyahoga Falls where she spent many happy hours. Deepest thanks go to the Gardens of Western Reserve Staff Nurses and Caregivers and Summa Hospice Care especially Phil, Lacey and Amanda for the wonderful and loving care she was given. Calling hours will be from 5 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel, 247 Stow Ave. (one block North of Portage Trail at 3rd St.) in Cuyahoga Falls. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1761 Second St. Cuyahoga Falls. Immediately following Mass, interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls.
