Obituary of Arpad Nagy
Arpad Nagy, 77, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Akron General
Medical Center.
He was born in Nemesded, Hungary and came to the United States and
Akron at Christmastime in 1956. He was a veteran of the United States
Armed Forces and retired from First Energy in 1996 after 39 years of
service. Mr. Nagy was a member of the Hungarian-American Club and Ohio
Edison (First Energy) Men's Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Deszo and Maria (Filak) Nagy;
brother, Bela Nagy; and sister, Zsuzsanna Sgorka. He is survived by his
wife of 49 years, Janet Nagy; son and daughter-in-law, William Arpad
Nagy and Dr. Semra Olgac; brother and sister-in-law, Deszo and Rozalia
Nagy of Budapest, Hungary; sister-in-law, Margaret Nagy of Vese,
Hungary; granddaughter, Lara S. Nagy; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Monday, 11 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral
Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. Interment
at Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls. The family will receive
friends Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m. and Monday, 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral
home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Haven of Rest
