Obituary of Anton Felder
Anton Felder, 86, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2014 in Akron.
Anton was born on October 8, 1927 to Anton and Gisela Felder in Yugoslavia. He married Magdalena Tiefenbach in 1950 and then immigrated to Akron in 1955. He worked as machine operator for Alcon Tool for 37 years. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and the German American Family Society, of which he was Vice President for many years. Anton enjoyed golfing, bowling, dancing and traveling, especially to visit family.
Anton was preceded in death by his siblings Martin, Frank and Katrina Felder; and dear cousin Georg Kutti. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Magdalena; his children Reinhard (Lilly) Felder of Sarasota, FL and Maria (Lorenz) Hippich of Green; sister Marie Wittmann of Brighton, MI; grandchildren Larry Michael (Melissa) Hippich, Daniel (Traci) Hippich, Christopher (Jen) Hippich, Melissa (Kevin) Cooper and Megan Felder; great-grandchildren Jessica, Matthew, Carly, Benjamin, Andrew, Nicholas, Olivia and the soon to be Baby Cooper; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family thanks the Hospice Care Center and their staff for the compassionate care during Anton's last days.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held this Saturday at 11:00 AM, at Nativity of the Lord Jesus Catholic Church, 2425 Myersville Rd in Springfield, where the family will receive friends and family for one hour prior. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations may be made to the church or to the VNS Hospice. (Anthony, Akron, 330-724-1281, anthonyfh.com)
