Obituary of Donna June Ott

Donna June (Drexler) Ott, 75, made her way toward Heavenly glory on Friday, April 4, 2014. She found great joy in her Catholic faith and her family. She was a beautiful and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. Sunday, was her favorite day of the week. The example she set was to love God first, then family and friends. She was happiest whenever or wherever she was with her loved ones. She loved the Catholic Church and was a charter member of St. Francis de Sales Parish. She also enjoyed traveling, camping, playing games, especially competitive card games, and family mealtimes, followed by mountains of her homemade Christmas cookies any time of year. Donna had a contagious laugh, a beautiful smile, and always hugged you in such a way that you felt her love. She is survived by the love of her life, her husband George; her siblings Kate Drexler, Betty (Jim) Geig, Mary (Phil) Ott, Chuck (Sue) Drexler, Cathy (Dick) Ruhe, Janet Drexler, Albert (Janie), Charlotte (Gene) Hill, Pat (Gary) Auman; as well as the loves of her heart, her children: Therese (Dave) Holderbaum, Tim (Kristen), Cindy Matheny, Debbie (Jere) Nichols, Mary (Shawn) Grandon, Joe (Michelle), Michael (Megan), and 25 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Al and Mary Drexler; and siblings Al Drexler, Barbara (Jerry) McNeill, Sister Mary Albert Drexler, O.P., and Mike Drexler. The family will receive friends Tuesday 4 to 8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, where a Rosary will be recited at 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 am in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Road., Akron OH 44319. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Right to Life of Summit County, 572 W. Market St., Akron OH 44303. (Anthony, Akron, 330-724-1281, anthonyfh.com)
