Obituary of John Lukacik

John Lukacik, 86, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at his home. John was born on September 8, 1927 in Akron, Ohio. He retired from Goodyear Aerospace Corporation and Loral Defense Systems. He was a member of Visitation of Mary Parish at Annunciation Church, Holy Name Society, Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and was a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force. He was a graduate of the University of Akron and served in the United States Army during World War II. John volunteered at the Visitation of Mary Soup Kitchen and served Fish Fry Dinners for many years. He also served as an usher for Sunday Masses for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Lukacik; sister, Margaret; and brother, Joseph. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Visitation of Mary Catholic Church, 55 Broad St. Akron, Ohio 44305 where friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
