Obituary of Richard 'Moe' E. Orr

Richard 'Moe' Orr, 67, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at his home. Moe was born on June 16, 1946, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Aitken) Orr in Akron, the sixth of their twelve children. He worked for the Ohio Department of Transportation for 33 years, retiring in 1999, and beginning his second calling as Fr. Johnathan's right hand man with his work as Visitation of Mary and St. John Catholic Churches. Moe had a passion for golf, playing every chance he had. He cherished his family, grandchildren, and his faithful dog, Toto. Moe was preceded in death by his father Joseph and his son Richard. He is survived by his wife, Gail (Milne); mother, Elizabeth Orr; children Megan (Troy) Aiken & Matthew (Deanna) Orr; grandchildren Andrew, Benjamin, & Nicholas Aiken, Katlyn & Emma Kapper and Madeline Orr; as well as many siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will receive family and friends Wednesday, March 26 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at the Anthony Funeral Homes, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 27, at 10AM, at Visitation of Mary Catholic Church, 55 Broad St in Akron. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
