Obituary of Jonathan Mullender

Jonathan Mullender, 61, passed away on March 20, at the Hospice Care Center in Copley. Born in Akron on May 22, 1952 to Claude and Margita Mullender, Jon was a graduate of Coventry High School. He received his bachelors from the University of Akron and his Master's Degree from Kent State University. Jon loved being a teacher, working for the Akron Public Schools for 15 years, retiring in 1991. He went on to form his own company, Summit Fence Supply, which he operated until his death. He was a member of the Chapel in Akron. Jon was an avid fan of the Indians, Browns, and the Buckeyes, but the center of his life was the Lord, followed by his family, especially his grandson Tristan and his soon to be born granddaughter Gwendolyn. Preceded in death by his father Claude and his nephew Bert, Jon is survived by his wife of 38 years, Estelle; mother Margita Mullender; son and daughter-in-law Tim & Jackie Mullender, and their son Tristan and soon to be born daughter Gwendolyn; Sisters Pamela (Bill Warrick) Mullender & Marcia (Larry) Alkema; niece Catie (Rob) Gall; sister-in-law Lisa (Robert Zangrando) Pace. The family will receive friends on Monday, from 4-7 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, at 11:00 am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service 3358 Ridgewood Rd. Akron, OH 44333.

Visitation

The family will receive friends on Monday, from 4-7 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, at 11:00 am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service 3358 Ridgewood Rd.
