Obituary of Matthew M. Flach

Matthew M. Flach, Jr., 31, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Akron City Hospital after a brief illness. Matt was born July 20, 1982 in Akron and had been an area resident his entire life. He was a faithful fan of the Browns, Cavs, Indians and Ohio State. He is survived by his parents Kimberly (Bud) Finfrock and Matthew (Wanda McBride) Flach, Sr.; grandfather Mathias Flach; fiancé Jenn Belacic, their yet to be born child and her son Chandler; step siblings Josh, Neil (Krystal) and Casey Finfrock; uncles and aunts Fred Flach, Jim (Terri) Phillips, David Phillips, Ron Phillips and Margaret (Terry) Christmas, Diane (Scott) Perry, Sylvia Flach; 4 nieces and nephews; and was preceded in death by his Oma (grandmother) Maria Flach and grandparents James and Leah Phillips. The family will receive friends Saturday 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid and Santos Chapel, 247 Stow Ave. (one block north of Portage Trail at Third St.) where a Memorial Service will follow at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations for the care of his unborn child may be made to Jennifer Belacic at any FirstMerit Bank branch or in care of the funeral home.
