Obituary of Sheila Gwen Daugherty

Sheila Gwen Daugherty (Cocciollone) Sheila Gwen Daugherty (Cocciolone), 56, passed away March 28, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 19, 1955 in Akron to the late John and Ilene Daugherty. She lived most of her life in Portage Lakes. She was quite proud of having graduated with a degree in Social Work/Criminal Justice from the University of Akron. She had worked for Portage County Catholic Charities and the Summit County Sheriff's Department. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her stepdad Terry Phillips and grandparents Lloyd and Grace Hoch. She leaves her loving son Frank (Mary McKenzie) Cocciolone and daughter Lauren (Michael Elzholz, Sr.) Daugherty; grandchildren Shayla and Michael, Jr.; sisters Jill (Al) Regula and Colleen (Steve) Wheatcraft; cousins Judith (Earl) Ertman, Lynn Thomas and Dennis (Grace) Shanafelt; nephews David and John (Laure) Regula. Funeral services will be held Friday 12:30 pm at the Anthony and Son Funeral Home Green Chapel, 4178 Massillon Road (At Massillon and Steese Roads, entrance of Steese). The family will receive friend Friday from 11:00 am until time of service. Inurnment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
