Obituary of Harold E. Rausch
-CUYAHOGA FALLS
Harold Rausch, 82, passed away on March 8, 2014, after a brief illness.
Born in Ellet on November 15, 1931 to the late Charles & Anna Rausch, graduated from Ellet High School, and had lived in Cuyahoga Falls since 1965. He was one of the first 500 Ford workers hired at the Ford Plant in Walton Hills in the late fifties, retiring as a foreman in 1988. He served his country as a member of the US Army during the Korean War. Harold was a automobile enthusiast and was well known in the classic car circuit for his 1949 Cadillac, and was a regular for many years at the Front Street Auto Show in Cuyahoga Falls. Harold was the type who insisted that a job be done right and on time. Harold was Past Commander of the Ralph Huff VFW Post #1062, where the outdoor pavilion is named in his his honor. He was an avid hunter, bowler, and pool player. He especially enjoyed playing pool with his daughter Connie.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife Bettysue; brother Perry and sister Helen. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Connie & John Litton of Cuyahoga Falls, who tenderly cared for Harold in their home for the last two years of his life. She will deeply miss the time she spent with him during this period in their lives; step-children Andy (Sharyn), and their son Michael, and Richie Alexzulian; grandchildren Andrew, Brandon, and Lauren Litton and John's daughter Holly Litton.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 5-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home MCGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL, 247 Stow Ave (at 3rd St., one block north of Portage Trail) in Cuyahoga Falls. A funeral will take place on Wednesday at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, where the American Legion Charles Faust Post #281 will perform military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Post #1062 Building Fund 1581 Main St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.
