Obituary of Marie Louise McNeill

Marie McNeill (nee Payerle), 52, of Uniontown, was escorted by the angels on Thursday, March 6, 2014 to rest peacefully in the arms of her Lord and Savior surrounded by her loving family. Marie was born on February 27, 1962, in Akron, Ohio to the late Frank and Margaret (Peg) Payerle. She was a graduate of Our Lady of Elms High School and Akron University. Marie is survived by her loving husband, Thomas McNeill, children: Shannon, Vincent, Bryan Kelly, Michelle (Sean) Rich, Luke, Garrett and Patrick; brothers Paul (Liz) Payerle, George (Donna) Payerle, sisters; Helen Payerle, Teresa Payerle, Margaret (Robert) Hoffner, Ann (William) Ancona; brothers and sisters in law Janet (Dennis) Jebber, Patrick (Judy) McNeill, Marty (Clarice) McNeill, Kathleen (Steven) Derby, Mary Huggins, Karen McNeill, Paula (Keith) Stump, Daniel (Lisa) McNeill; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her in-laws Gerald and Barbara McNeill and Barb McNeill. Marie never knew a stranger. She was a friend and mentor to all she came in contact with. She brought her college education to her own home, homeschooling all seven of her children. When her sister-in-law, Barb McNeill, passed away, she stepped in to the role of teacher for her 11 nieces and nephews. She loved her family and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family extends a special thank you to all of their friends and family members who supported them through this journey for the past 10 months including the staff and physicians at the Cleveland Clinic. A special thanks to Father David Bline, adopted sister Judi Carmen, daughter Shannon McNeill and the staff at Crossroads Hospice for their personal care of Marie, along with her loving husband who stood by her side as her true love, companion and caregiver. Marie's love and passion were her family and her faith. She was a pro-life speaker for many years. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales where she served as a sacristan. She will be dearly missed by her church family. Calling hours will be at Anthony Funeral Home 1990 S. Main Street in Akron, Oh on Sunday March 9th from 2:00-6:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 10th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis de Sales Church, 4019 Manchester Road, Akron, OH 44319.
