Obituary of Michael F. Song
GREEN -- Michael F. Song, M.D., born August 2, 1940, passed away unexpectedly on February 21, 2014.
Mike graduated from The Catholic University, Medical College, Seoul, South Korea, his home country. After passing the national board for medical doctor, he served in the Korean army as a medical officer. In 1974, he joined the U.S. Navy as a Commissioned Medical Officer, practicing emergency medicine and obstetrician-gynecologist. After serving the U.S. Navy, he cared for patients in hospitals in the states of Pennsylvania, Florida and finally Ohio as an emergency doctor, primary care and urgent care physician. He dedicated his ministry to the sick for the past 45 years, the last of which was at his private clinic, Accu-Med, located in Ellet, Akron, Ohio.
Michael was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Rosie Dean; a caring son of Alice Lee; generous brother to sisters, Christina and Jeanne (Charles Kim); and dear uncle to nephews, Tony, Howard and Emill. He was loved and respected by his in-laws, several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Road, Uniontown, Ohio (www.queenofheavenparish.org), where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
