Obituary of Leah Phillips

-STOW Leah Phillips, 72, died unexpectedly, after a short illness on February 20, 2014. Born in West Union, WV on April 2, 1941 to the late Julius & Mattie Moffatt, Leah had been a resident of Stow for most of her life. She was a graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School. Leah was a member of the Stow Community Church, where she participated in the choir and bible study. She was also a member of the Stow Notes Choir. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James in 1994 and sisters Norma, Nancy, & Doris. She is survived by her sons James (Terri), David, and Ronald Phillips; daughters Kimberly (Bud) Finfrock, and Margaret (Terry) Christmas; 14 grandchildren, as well as many great-grandchildren and nieces & nephews; siblings Edward Moffatt, Judy (Jim) Valovcik, Sandy (Tom) Pyles, & Connie (Ken) Myers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 5-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home MCGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL 247 Stow Ave. (at 3rd. St., one block north of Portage Trail) in Cuyahoga Falls. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 11:00 am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation PO Box 650309 Dallas, TX 75265-0309 or by visiting www.komen.org.
