Obituary of Irene Bernat

-BAY VILLAGE Irene V. Bernat, 87, passed away on February 16, 2014. She was born on August 30, 1926 in Akron and was a lifelong resident. As a mother and grandmother, she was active with her family and was a member of the St. Sebastian Parish Community. Her memberships included the St. Sebastian Little Flower Garden Club and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Polish Legion of American Veterans Post No. 32. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley J. Bernat, and parents Jakob & Frances Ball; sisters Anne Ball, Florence Walter, Stella Fitzgerald, and Helen Ulatowski. She is survived by her daughter Pat (Tony) Denzinger and her son Stanley C. (Lisa) Bernat; grandchildren Karen (Tod) Schneider, Anne Bernat, and Paul (Ashley) Denzinger; great-grandchild Hannah Schneider, as well as many nieces & nephews. A special thank you to the Bradley Bay Health Center and the Hospice of Cleveland Clinic for their loving care of Irene. The family will receive friends TODAY, from 4-7 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home, KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. John Valencheck on Thursday, 11:00 am, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church 476 Mull Ave, Akron, OH 44320. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
