Obituary of Rosemary G. Clary

Rosemary G. Clary, age 93, died January 14, 2014. She was born in Mingo Junction, Ohio, on February 4, 1920, to William and Katherine Goll. In her youth, Rosemary jitterbugged to all the Big Band music, often with her favorite partner, her brother Bill. During World War II, she worked at Timken in Canton for the Ordnance Department. It was there she met the love of her life, Stuart Clary. They were married April 25, 1943. A prize-winning quilter, Rosemary was also an avid collector and restorer of antiques. In addition, she was a co-owner of a catering business, a willing volunteer at both church and school, and a Scrabble and Euchre enthusiast. She made an art of homemaking and was a gracious and welcoming hostess to family and friends throughout her life. Rosemary was preceded in death by Stuart, her beloved husband of 67 years, as well as her sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Edward Flynn; brothers, Francis and William, and brother-in-law, Herb Van Kirk. She is survived by her children, Stuart, Kathleen (Rick) Lach, and Janet (Steve Kraus); grandchildren, Steve (Michelle) Lach and Tony (Emily) Lach; seven great-grandchildren; and her sister, Jean Van Kirk. The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers of Hospice of Summa and our dear Angela, whose help made it possible for us to care for our mother at home.
