Obituary of Fern Lucille Selby

Fern Lucille Selby, 94, devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went to Heaven to be with her dear husband William on December 28, 2013, at the Gardens of Western Reserve. Born in Akron on April 8, 1919 to the late Clayton & Bertha Keck, Fern had been a lifetime area resident. She was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of Akron. Preceded in death by her husband William in 2003 and her sister Dorothy Keck, Fern is survived by her children Patricia (Richard) Breneman, James (Carolyn) Selby, & Jill (Richard) Summerlot; sister Eleanor Duckett; grandchildren Richard (Wendy) Breneman, Beth (Trevor) Garretson, Jason Summerlot, & Amy (Pete) Sweatt; great-grandchildren Dylan, Hunter, & Sarah Garretson, Kai & Ericka Breneman, and Maria & Jack Sweatt. The family will receive friends TODAY, from 5-8 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A funeral will take place on Tuesday, 11:00 am at the funeral home. Rev. Duane Angel officiating. Interment will follow at Mud Brook Cemetery in Jackson Township. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Hospice of Summa 444 N. Main St. Akron, OH 44310.
