Obituary of John A. Postiach

John A. ("Jack") Postiach, 78, passed away Friday, December 20, 2013. He was born in Akron and was a former member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church and was a current member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Barberton Elks and the Jednota Club. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving 4 years in Spain and retired from the former General Tire and Rubber Company and also from Superior Meats. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna (Garnick) Postiach; wife, Regina M.; great-niece, Anna Karam; and brother-in-law, Doug Hilton. He is survived by his brother, Michael Postiach; sisters, Barbara Hilton and Mary Ann Shipley; nieces, Dawn Hlass and Patty Karam; God-son and nephew, Artie Shipley; great-nephew, Tyler Karam; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held Friday, 11 a.m. at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 1051 Robinson Ave. Barberton, Ohio 44203 where John will lie in state one hour prior to service. Fr. Miron Kerul Kmec officiating. Interment will be in West Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday, 4 to 7 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S.
