Obituary of Claude Joseph Smith

GREEN - Claude J. Smith, 43, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, November 27, 2013. Claude was born July 8, 1970 in Sandusky, Ohio, grew up on Kelly's Island and has been a Green resident for years. He was the owner operator of Distribution Services Incorporated which he founded in 2005. He was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Claude's life revolved around his family turning down several lucrative employment opportunities that required time away from them. He was actively involved with his sons in Green Youth Football and Basketball and the Ohio Bombers Baseball. Claude leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Meagan (Gahan); beloved sons Claude Jacob, Ryan and Kyle Smith; aunt (his Mom) Judith DuShane; sister Sandy (Ed) Krain; and his adopted parents father and mother-in-law Theodore and Sandra Gahan. He was preceded in death by his father Claude A. Smith, grandfather Claude Smith and his uncle Duke DuShane. The family will receive friends Tuesday 4 to 6:45 pm at the Anthony and Son Funeral Home of Green, 4178 Massillon Rd. Uniontown, Ohio 44685 (corner of Steese and Massillon Roads, entrance off of Steese) and will be immediately followed at 7:00 pm by a Mass of Christian Burial in Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Rd., in Green. His remains will be interred with his father on Kelly's Island on Thursday at 1:00 pm. The ferry will depart at 12:00 pm (Noon).
