Obituary of Raymond Joseph Klein

Raymond Joseph Klein, 91, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2013. Ray was born September 21, 1922 to John and Carolyn (Schwilk) Klein in Akron and had been an Akron area resident his entire life. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and a life member of the Akron Power and Sail Squadron. He retired from Portage Machine in 1984 with 40 years of service. He served in the United States Marine Corps. during World War II. Ray was preceded in death by brother, Leonard; and sisters, Agnes Welsh and Margaret Zimmerman; and is survived by his wife, Lucille; children, Dorothy (Charles) Diehl, Donald (Hazel), David (Ruth), Dale and Dan Klein; siblings Cecilia, Mary Ann Grismer and John (Dolores) Klein; sister-in-law Patricia Klein; 15 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Monday, 9:30 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
