Obituary of Lloyd Delorse Coy
Lloyd D. Coy, 96, passed away on November 15, 2013.
Born in Edinburg, IN on April 3, 1917 to the late Aubrey & Mildred Coy, Lloyd had been an Akron resident since 1946. He married his beloved wife Laurice Simon on November 1, 1942. After serving his country as a medic in the US Army during WWII, Lloyd came home to work for Goodyear Aerospace as a Calendar Operator, retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church. Lloyd was an avid sportsman and craftsman.
In addition to his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by his brother Donald and his sister Lousie Angle. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Laurice; children Robert W. (Linda) Coy of Macedonia and Sharon Gologanoff of Dayton; brother Wayne (Jane) Coy of Columbus, IN; brother-in-law Lowell Angle of Rushville, IN; grandchildren Tracy (Sal) Russo, Robert A. (Laura) Coy, Meredith (Ryan) Brown, Christopher Gologanoff, & Anthony (Kendra) Gologanoff; and great-grandchildren Lindsay, Nicholas, Cassie, Anna, Abby, Adam, Valerie and Natalie.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 4-7 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, at 11:00 am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lloyd's name to a charity of your choice.
