Obituary of Agnes Hammer

Agnes Hammer, 79, passed away Monday, October 21, 2013 at the VNS Hospice Care Center. Agnes was born April 5, 1934 to Alfred and Pauline (Steiner) Kramer in Barberton and had been an area resident her entire life. She was a faithful member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and attended daily Mass until her health failed. She was a long time member of the St. Francis choir and had served as the choir treasurer. She was active in the Boy and Girl Scouts, Green Youth Softball and loved to play bridge. Agnes is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Tom; children Mary (Ben) Grable, Joseph Hammer, Theresa (Phil) Gibbs, Michael (Tammy) Hammer and Katherine (Keith)Hodkinson; grandchildren Adina and Ivana Morgan, Seth Grable, Jonathon, David and Laura Hammer, Rhiannon and Thomas Gibbs, Kailey (Adam) Panzarino and Abbey Hammer; great grandchildren Michael, Gabriel and Sophia Panzarino; siblings Josephine (John) Maples, Margaret Roth and Robert Kramer. The family will receive friends Thursday 4 to 8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St Akron. Funeral services will be held Friday 9:30 am at the funeral home and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Interment Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery. Visitation

The family will receive friends Thursday 4 to 8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St Akron.  Funeral services will be held Friday 9:30 am at the funeral home and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.
