Pearl Hicks, 89, passed away on December 24, surrounded by her loving family. Born May 10, 1922 to the late Clyde and Louise (Luella) (Fasen-meyer) Carson, Pearl grew up in Oil City, Pa. She married her high school sweetheart Jack Hicks in November of 1940 and they made their home in Saegertown, Pa. Jack died July 14, 1985. In 2008, Pearl moved to Cuyahoga Falls to be closer to her son, Jack and his family. Pearl retired from volunteering at the age of 80 after 60 years of continuous service to others. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, and making crafts, as well as belonging to several bridge clubs. In addition to her husband and parents, Pearl was preceded in death by her grandson, John Hicks; and great-grandson, John Ebie; brothers, Jerry and Clyde Carson; and sisters, Joan Carson and Virginia Shirey. She is survived by her three children, John ``Jack' (Shirley) Hicks of Cuyahoga Falls, Nancy Kane of Rochester, M.N.; and brother, Mike Hicks, of Bradford, Pa. Pearl is also survived by eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends TODAY from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home MCGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL, at 3rd. St., one block north of Portage Trail in the Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. James Singler on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1905 Portage Trail in Cuyahoga Falls.
