Obituary of Marjorie Ann Ligon
Marjorie (nee Benson) Ligon, 86, passed away Friday, October 11, 2013, at her home with her husband at her side.
Marjorie was born June 7, 1927 to Jerome and Lillian (Sterr) Benson in Akron and had been an Akron area resident most of her life.
Marjorie dedicated her life to her family as a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She lived her life with wonder at the world around her and never lost the playful nature of her youth. She was an accomplished seamstress, a wonderful cook, enjoyed reading and loved movies. She traveled with her husband and, as a young mother, involved herself with her children's education and activities at every opportunity.
Marjorie is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Howard; her children David (Mary Ann) Ligon, Joyce (Gene) Torrence, and Robert (Lori) Ligon ; grandchildren Cindy (Heinz) Wolf, Jeff, ( Holly) Ligon, Kathy (Dustin) Kreft, Brian Ligon, Ann (Justin) DeLucenay, Cliff Torrence, Bob Ligon and Rebecca Ligon; great grandchildren Colin and Savannah Wolf, Steven Ligon, Aaron Wolf, Ryan Kreft, Daniela Wolf and Lacey Ligon; sister Ruth Volchko, and was preceded in death by her sister Pauline McCoy.
Special thanks to Donna Fioramonti, for the devotion and loving care she gave to Marjorie during the last years of her life.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday 7:00 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron where the family will receive friends from 5 pm until the time of the services. (Anthony, Akron, 330.724.1281, anthonfh.com)
