Obituary
Charles Balaj, 83, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at the Hospice Care Center.
Charles was born June 8, 1929 to Charles and Florence (Bente) Balaj in Akron and had been an Akron area resident his entire life. He was employed by Ohio Bell as a testman for over 36 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and had been a church usher. He was a veteran of the Navy during the Korean War.
Charles is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Lou (Dillard); children, Randy (Beth) Balaj and Lori (Wade) Arterburn; son-in-law, Larry Cole; grandchildren, Matt (Kadi) and Dan (Brandi) Cole, Tracy (Allen) Lanham, Steve (Brenda) Cole, Chad (Kim), Elise, Allen and Jason Balaj, and Taylor, Mitchel and Lilly Arterburn; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Sydney and Joclyn Cole, Gage and Nadia Lanham and Kayla and Alexandria Cole; siblings, Anne Sibley, Mary Luke and Sylvia Yova. He was preceded in death by his children, Chris Cole and Mark Balaj and siblings, Florence, Catherine, Eva, Lucretia, Lionel and Tom.
