Obituary of Richard Clarence Barnes

Richard Barnes, 90, passed away August 20 at the Hospice Care Center of Copley following a slight heart attack July 31 after working in his yard. Richard had a sense of humor, was willing to help others, enjoyed working word puzzles and jigsaw picture puzzles, and took great pleasure in spending time with family. Born in Suffield, Ohio he was the only child of Clarence and Lula Barnes and resided in Springfield Township most of his life. He was an Army veteran of World War II and retired from Goodyear Tire in 1984. He was a member of the Brown Street Church of Christ. He was a wonderful, loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. Richard was preceded in death by his wife LaVene of 61 years. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Dan Richards; son, Rick; granddaughter and husband, Linda and Joe Seiler; and great-grandsons, Nicholas and Joshua.
