Obituary of Robert Leroy DiPaolo
Robert Leroy DiPaolo, 80, went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Monday, March 19, 2012.
Bob was born in Bellaire, Ohio, on February 21, 1932. He graduated from Bellaire High School, served in the Korean War, and then obtained a B.S. Degree in Education from Kent State University and a Master's Degree in Education from The University of Akron.
Bob was a lifelong educator inside and outside of the classroom. He taught industrial arts at Simon Perkins Junior High School, Buchtel High School, and Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, where he touched the lives of thousands of students and fellow faculty members. Bob coached basketball at Simon Perkins and served as Cub Scout Master and Little League baseball coach. A faithful servant of his Lord, he served as a deacon and Bible Study leader at The Chapel on Fir Hill and was an active member of Riverwood Community Chapel's care group ministry. Bob was a gregarious conversationalist with a servant's heart, who loved to spend time with people. He will be remembered most for how he put the needs of others before his own.
Bob is survived by his wife, Dorlene; his three sons, Robert Eugene (Grace), Jeffrey Alan (Brigid) and Jay Anthony (Lesa); his eight grandchildren, Shanna (Alan), Zachary (Michelle), Chelsea (Colby), Benjamin, Kayleigh, Josiah, Eva and Kira; his brother, William (Ethel); and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Clairee, with whom he is now reunited.
