Obituary of Ralph D. McCormick

Ralph D. McCormick, 80, passed away Monday, August 26, 2013 at Akron City Hospital. Ralph was born March 26, 1933 to Daniel and Gertrude (Roth) McCormick in Akron and had been an area resident his entire life. He was employed by Ohio Bell for over 37 years retiring in 1990. He was a veteran of the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church where he served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and was a member of the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the Ohio Bell Foreman's Club. Ralph vocation was husband and father. He leaves his beloved wife of 54 years, Jane(nee Walsh); sons Daniel (Beth) and Dennis (Kathleen) McCormick; grandchildren Mallory and Amanda McCormick , Dana (Aaron) Harold and Shane (Megan) Trigg; great grandchildren Megan, Jenna and Grant Harold and Jack and Luke Trigg. He was preceded in death by his son David in 2012 and by his siblings Jack, Mary Ellen, Margie and Jeanne. The family is grateful Dr. Douglas Trochelman, Dr. Ron R. Jones and the staff of the cancer center for their many hours of dedicated medical care of Ralph, to Frs. David R. Durkee and Joseph O'Donnell for their many prayers visits, blessings and acts of kindness shown to Ralph and our family in our hours of need and to our Queen of Heaven family for standing by us in the worst of times. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 am in Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Rd. Uniontown OH 44685. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends TODAY 5 to 8 pm at the Anthony and Son Funeral Home, 4178 Massillon Road (corner of Massillon and Steese Roads in Green, entrance off Steese) where a Holy Name Rosary will be recited at 7:45 pm.
