Obituary of Ramon 'Ray' Edward Delaney

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Ramon Edward (Ray) Delaney, 93, died March 9, 2012. Ray was born in Akron, Ohio on August 31, 1918, and lived most of his life in Cuyahoga Falls. He was a member of the January 1937 Graduation Class of Cuyahoga Falls High School. On November 14, 1940 Ray enlisted in the US Air Force, where he attained the rank of Master Sergeant. His overseas duty was with the 20th Air Force on Guam and Hawaii. He was discharged from the Service on November 7, 1945. Ray retired from Spitzer Ford as Truck and Fleet Manager in 1981, and from Metzger Photo Supply in 1996. Ray was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church for over 50 years, where he served as a Eucharist Minister. He was also a member of the Holy Name Society, and the Cuyahoga Falls Historical Society. Ray was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Mildred Mary Delaney, his parents, John F and Mary C (Turner) Delaney, sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Clyde Holliday, and brother, Jack Delaney. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mildred (Koesterer) Delaney, daughter, Kathy (Bill) Skinner of Cuyahoga Falls, and Marylee (Rich) Terrano, granddaughter, Leigh Anne (Matt) Jadro, grandson, Michael (Megan) Terrano, and great-granddaughter, Lilijana Jadro, all of Clark, New Jersey; sister, Genevieve Capron of Cuyahoga Falls, brother William (Joanne) Delaney of Akron, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home MCGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL, at 3rd. St., one block north of Portage Trail in the Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1761 Second St., Cuyahoga Falls. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls. In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances be made to St. Joseph's Education Fund, 215 Falls Ave., Cuyahoga Falls OH 44222; Cuyahoga Falls Good Neighbors, PO Box 233, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, or your favorite charity.
