Obituary of Anna Hojsak
Anna Hojsak
Anna Hojsak, 90, our Mother & Baba, was called home on August 21, after a long courageous fight with cancer surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Bereska, Poland on March 23, 1923, to the late Mykita & Anna Smolak. She arrived in America in 1951, was a lifetime Akron resident, and a member of Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church. She retired from People's Federal Bank with twenty years service. Anna loved the Indians, watching 'that Tiger' golf, Wheel of Fortune, flowers and gardening, dancing, music & singing, and she was an awesome cook. She also loved to laugh. But mostly, she loved being with her family. You will be forever missed as our Mother and Baba.
Preceded in death by her husband Michael in 1978, Anna is survived by her children Mary (Terry) Rakich of Bonita Springs, FL, Sophia (William) Herbert of New Albany, OH, Roman 'Ray' of Akron, Martha (Anthony) Dechiara of Polk, OH, Olga (Robert) Harmon of Naples, FL; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church 1866 Brown St. Akron, OH 44301.
