Obituary of Alfred F. Gasbarro

-CUYAHOGA FALLS Alfred F. Gasbarro, Jr., 84, passed away on August 19, after a brief illness. Born in Akron on August 24, 1928 to the late Alfredo & Antoinette Gasbarro, Al had been a lifetime area resident. He was a 1948 graduate of North High School and later went on to serve his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by ARA Food Service for 43 years, retiring in 1987. He later worked for Sanese Services for 13 years. Al was a member of the former Castel DiSangra Club. In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorothy and his grandson Cliff, as well as siblings Louis, John, & Delia. He is survived by his sons David (Patti) of Columbus & Jon of Cuyahoga Falls; granddaughter Gina (Kevin) Winks and great-grandson Liam; sisters Lucy Flasco, Mary Campanella, & Gloria Leonard, as well as many other nieces, nephews, family, & friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 5-8 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home MCGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL, 247 Stow Ave. (at 3rd. St., one block north of Portage Trail) in Cuyahoga Falls. A funeral will take place on Friday at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls.
