Obituary of Armando Zanin

Armando Zanin, 89, passed away August 16, 2013. He was born in Buffalo, NY on August 25, 1923. A resident of Stow since 2000, he was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, served 3 years in the United States Army, and graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Armando was most proud of his beloved wife Prudence and his thirteen children. He was a devoted husband, father, and a very special grandfather to all of his grandchildren, especially his Katie. Armando used his engineering skills in all aspects of his life. He was a very clever, witty problem-solver. He helped his 7 sons, 6 daughters, and 37 grandchildren with various home repairs, school projects, and numerous fun endeavors. He was a faithful fan at all sporting events, from marathons to wrestling matches. Family was the center of Armando's life. He traveled many miles to stay in touch with his sisters, brother, nieces, nephews, and of course, all of his children. His legacy of putting family first is now, and will be, forever carried on by his children and grandchildren. Preceded in death by his loving wife Prudence, son Michael, and precious grandchildren ClaireeBeth, Jason, and Alli; he is survived by beloved children, Mary Alice (Patrick) Black, William (Susan) Zanin, Andrew Zanin (Mary Anne Loftus), Mark (Lisa) Zanin, Catherine Waters, Karen (Bill) Hoffman, Ellen (Rick) Gorrell, Christopher (Patricia) Zanin, Margaret Zanin (Bernie Burchett), Brigid (Jeffrey) DiPaolo, John (Susan) Zanin, and Peter (Katrina) Zanin; loving sisters Adriana Nagel, Aurora (Harold) Smith and John (Judy) Zanin; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel, 247 Stow Avenue (one block North of Portage Trail at 3rd St.) in Cuyahoga Falls, from 4pm to 7pm Monday. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, 10am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1761 2nd Street, Cuyahoga Falls. Interment at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
