Obituary of William M. Costa
William M. Costa, 83, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2013.
He was born in Akron and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. Mr. Costa retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Company as a Design Engineer and was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces serving during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid golfer, an excellent fly fisherman and a charter member of the Army-Navy Garrison Post #250.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Margaret (Berchen) Costa; and brother, Donald Costa. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Olga (Rusyn) Costa; sons, Dan (Jane O'Connor) Costa and Nicholas Costa; daughters, Kathleen (Jerry) Lieberthal and Carole Anne (Phillip) Pooler; sister, Marsha (Al) Keller; uncle, Nicholas Kosta; and grandchildren, Kassandra and Tyler Lieberthal, Matthew Costa and Amanda and Thomas Pooler.
A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. The family will receive friends Sunday, 2 to 5 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron.
