Obituary of Emil Baranek
Emil Baranek, 93, passed away June 26, 2013 in Clifton Springs
N.Y.
He was born in McKees Rock, PA on November 23, 1919. Emil was
raised and lived in Akron until 1978 when he retired to Bradenton,
Florida. He worked at Firestone Tire & Rubber for 38 years. Emil's most
precious possession was his family which he loved dearly, and he was
passionate about sports. He was a long standing member of Firestone
Country Club. He was an official referee for high school & college
sports. Emil was a member of St. John the Baptist and Nativity of the
Lord Jesus Catholic Churches. He was loved and respected by all those whose lives he
touched. Emil will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Julia Kiz (Baba);
step-father, Theodore Kiz (Deda); father, Emil Baranek; brothers, Mike and
Walter Baranek; sister, Wanda Thacker; wife and mother of his children,
Margaret (Marge) Mitchen; son-in-law, Charles (Chuck) Salsky; grandson,
Scott Baranek; and great-granddaughter, Kelly Cook.
He is survived by his wife, Beryl; sons, Walter (Judith), Ronald
(Patricia) and Moe (Lynn); daughter, Linda Salsky; seven grandchildren; ten
great-grandchildren; step-children; step-grandchildren; and many other
family members who loved him dearly.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Nativity of
the Lord Jesus Catholic Church, 2425 Myersville Rd. Akron 44312 from 10 a.m. to
12:30 p.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial following. In lieu of flowers
