Obituary of Orysia S. Effler
Orysia Effler, 60, passed away on July 9, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Amsterdam, N.Y. on March 29, 1953, Orysia lived most of her life in Akron. She was a 1970 graduate of Our Lady of the Elms High School. She went on to earn her Bachelor's in Business Administration from the University of Akron and her Master's degree from Kent State University. Orysia had been employed for over 30 years by General Tire, which later became Omnova Solutions. Growing up, Orysia was a member of the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church in Akron and was currently a parishioner at St. Hilary Parish.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Dave; parents, Stefan and Anna Bybyk; son, Phillip; daughter, Lori (fiance Russ); grandchildren, Amily, Carter, and Braden; and brother, Steven (Denise) Bybyk.
Orysia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter, who worked tirelessly to care for her family.
The family will receive friends, Thursday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ FUNERAL HOME, 1990 S. Main St., in Akron, where a Parastas will take place at 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Friday at 12 p.m. at the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Byzantine Catholic Church, 1866 Brown St., in Akron. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stewart's Caring Place, 2955 W. Market St., Fairlawn, OH 44333.
